Founded in 1995 by CEO, Dr Geoffrey Andrews, Ranier Technology is a medical device development company engaged in the research and development of polymer-based products, utilising its proprietary Precision Polyurethane Manufacture (PPM) materials technology, and with a primary focus on motion-preserving spinal implants. Ranier’s lead product is Cadisc™-L, a compliant, polymeric lumbar disc implant based on a unique graduated modulus design. The revolutionary integrated nucleus-annulus-endplate design of Cadisc™-L, and PPM process technology, combine to produce a replacement disc featuring physiological motion, biomechanical function and durability characteristics which closely resemble those of the natural lumbar spinal disc. Cadisc™-L’s natural load transfer and compliant motion characteristics are designed to represent a significant clinical advance in the treatment of degenerative disc disease.
Ranier employs its patented PPM polymer manufacturing technology to realise advanced motion-preserving spinal implant designs. It is developing a compliant cervical disc implant – Cadisc™-C – and has plans for further durable, motion-preserving, spinal implants utilising Ranier’s PPM and graduated modulus technologies.
