Ranier Technology is a medical device development company engaged in the research and development of novel polymer-based products, utilising its proprietary Precision Polyurethane Manufacture (PPM) materials technology and manufacturing capability.

The company has developed an enabling polyurethane materials and process technology – Precision Polyurethane Manufacture (PPM) – which allows the manufacture of biocompatible polyurethane implants with graduated modulus (GradMod) properties or with single, selectable modulus. Ranier’s GradMod technology enables stresses generated in an implant under loading to be distributed uniformly throughout the entire implant and allow the combination of both programmable motion characteristics and exceptional durability. The selectable modulus technology allows Ranier to make implants with properties directly matched to the anatomy where it will be located.

The GradMod features are present in the unique range of load-bearing, motion-preserving spinal implants, Cadisc™ www.cadisc.com.

Ranier has a multi-disciplinary scientific, technical, regulatory and engineering product development group and has also established manufacturing capabilities which are EN 13485 registered. The company has benefited both clinically and scientifically through collaborations with leading academic institutions including Cambridge University and Nottingham University.

Ranier’s product design and clinical direction is shaped and guided by its international Scientific Advisory Board, most members of which are involved, or have been involved, directly in academic collaborations with the company.
